Link building

Link building for financial brands: real publishers, real authority

Editorial links from finance, business and news sites your customers actually read. Planned by tier and market, written by finance specialists and reported link by link.

For a global multi-asset investing platform we work with, link building helped grow monthly organic traffic from 2.2M to 4.7M (+113% year on year) as the brand added $21M in revenue in 8 months. Read the case study →

The problem with most link building

Most finance link building is a risk, not an asset

Finance is one of the most competitive areas in search, and Google holds “Your Money or Your Life” sites to a higher standard. Yet much of the link building on offer is private blog networks, link farms and unlabelled paid links on sites nobody reads.

Those links can do nothing at best, and at worst they put your domain at risk under Google’s link spam policies.

We build links that make sense to a human reader as well as to Google: on relevant publications, in useful content, and labelled correctly when they are paid.

Link tiers

Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3 links, explained

TierWhereWhy it mattersTypical time to go live*
Tier 1Major finance, business and news publicationsHeadline authority, trust, brand credibility7-38 days
Tier 2Established sector sites: fintech, trading, crypto, personal financeTopical relevance and steady authority1-10 days
Tier 3Niche and local-language finance sitesMarket relevance, anchor diversity, local reach1-10 days

*Based on our 2025 fintech campaign. Timing varies by outlet and placement type.

Outlets we pitch and publish in include Forbes, Yahoo Finance, Benzinga, Business Insider, Entrepreneur, Investing.com, International Business Times (Tier 1); Finextra, The Fintech Times, FXStreet, Finance Magnates, HackerNoon, Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, Decrypt (Tier 2, fintech, trading and crypto); iGaming Business, SBC News, Gambling Insider, CasinoBeats (iGaming, for licensed brands).

We pitch these outlets for earned coverage and, where they offer it, arrange clearly labelled contributed or sponsored placements. Listing an outlet does not mean it has endorsed us or our clients. Sponsored and press-release placements usually carry rel="sponsored" or nofollow links, and we report that for every URL.

Our link standards

Our quality rules

We don’t use:

  • private blog networks (PBNs) or link farms;
  • sites that exist only to sell links;
  • hidden paid links (every paid link is marked rel="sponsored");
  • exact-match anchor stuffing;
  • automated or bulk link schemes.

We do check every site for real traffic, editorial standards, topical relevance and audience fit in your target market.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Only sponsored placements can be guaranteed, because the space is paid for. They are labelled by the publisher and their links are marked rel="sponsored". Earned and contributed links can’t be guaranteed, because editors decide what to publish. We show you the placement type for every link before you approve it.

Buying links to manipulate rankings without disclosure is against Google’s spam policies. Paid placements are fine when they are clearly labelled and the link carries rel="sponsored" (or nofollow). Sponsored links still bring referral traffic, brand exposure and AI-visible mentions.

We monitor every link after it goes live. Links are permanent, and if anything happens to one, we take care of it at no additional cost.

We tag links with UTMs and track referral traffic and conversions in Google Analytics, alongside rankings and organic traffic to your target pages.

No. We only place links on real publications with genuine audiences.

It depends on your competitors, not a fixed number. Your link gap analysis shows how far behind or ahead you are, and we set monthly targets from that.

Links usually go live within days (Tier-2/3) to a few weeks (Tier-1). Ranking effects typically build over several months, which is why we report monthly and review quarterly.
